All festival in Bhutan depicts the history of Bhutan way back to century-old tradition. We celebrate a festival to honor Guru Padmasambhava who brought Tantric Buddhism in the 8th century. Most of the festival in Bhutan is celebrated in Dzongs and monasteries. People from all walks of life come to celebrate in their best attire and to receive the blessing from the monk’s body. Some festival unfurls the largest Thangka at the end of the festival for people to receive blessing and it’s very secret. Even the foreigner who visits Bhutan can witness this secret unfurling of Thanka (Painting)
