We celebrate a festival to honor Guru Padmasambhava who brought Tantric Buddhism in the 8th century. Most of the festival in Bhutan is celebrated in Dzongs and monasteries. People from all walks of life come to celebrate in their best attire and to receive the blessing from the monk’s body. Attending a religious festival bestows merits in one life. Duration of festival and dates differ from place to place.

Some festival unfurls the largest Thangka at the end of the festival for people to receive blessing and it’s very secret.
