Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Spend the remainder of the day relaxing and acclimatizing to Bhutan’s fresh mountain air. If time permits, enjoy a leisurely stroll around Paro town.
After breakfast, drive to the Tiger’s Nest trailhead and begin the hike to the iconic Taktsang Monastery, dramatically perched on a cliff at 3,120 meters. The trail passes through pine forests and offers stunning views of Paro Valley. After visiting the monastery, descend back to the base and return to Paro. Overnight stay in Paro.
Drive to Damchena village near Paro to start the Druk Path Trek. The trail ascends steadily through pine and fir forests toward Jele Dzong. On a clear day, enjoy magnificent views of Mount Jomolhari and surrounding Himalayan peaks. Camp overnight near Jele Dzong.
Today’s trek follows a ridge route with panoramic mountain views, passing yak herder camps and alpine landscapes. The trail gradually ascends and descends, making for a pleasant trekking day. Enjoy open meadows and high-altitude scenery before reaching Jangchulakha campsite. Overnight at camp.
The trail continues through rolling alpine terrain and crosses several ridges. You will be rewarded with spectacular views of high Himalayan peaks before descending to the beautiful Jimilangtsho Lake, known for its clear waters and surrounding yak pastures. Camp overnight near the lake
Begin the final day of trekking with a gradual ascent followed by a descent toward Phajoding Monastery. The trail offers sweeping views of Thimphu Valley before completing the trek. From Phajoding, drive to Thimphu and later continue to Paro for overnight stay. Overnight in Paro.

It is rated as moderate. While it doesn’t require technical climbing skills, it is physically demanding. You will be hiking for 4 to 6 hours daily, mostly uphill on the first two days, over rocky, uneven mountain trails.
Yes, altitude acclimatization is important. The trek starts around 2,400 meters in Paro and reaches a maximum peak of 4,210 meters (13,812 feet) at Simkotra Tsho Pass. It is highly recommended to spend 2 to 3 days sightseeing in Paro or Thimphu to adjust before starting.
Electricity is not available at all. You should bring fully charged power banks for your devices. Cellular signal (B-Mobile or TashiCell) is available on certain high ridges where you can see down into the Paro or Thimphu valleys, but it is completely dead or highly unstable in the deep lake basins.
You only need to carry a small daypack with your water, camera, rain gear, and extra layers. Heavy luggage, camping gear, and food supplies are carried by pack horses or yaks. A camp chef travels with you to cook hot, fresh meals every day.
