Day 1: Arrival in Paro To Thimphu I Distance: 55 Km I Driving Time : 1.5 Hours IAltitude: 2320m

 Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your guide. Enjoy a scenic drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s charming capital, following the beautiful Paro and Wang Chhu rivers. If time permits, visit the Buddha Dordenma, Memorial Chorten, and explore the lively Craft Bazaar before checking into your hotel for an overnight stay.

Spend the day at the vibrant Thimphu Tshechu Festival held at Tashichho Dzong. Witness sacred Cham mask dances, traditional music, and colorful cultural performances while joining local devotees gathered to receive blessings. In the evening, stroll through Thimphu town and experience Bhutan’s warm hospitality.

Drive back to Paro through beautiful mountain scenery.

Enroute, stop at Simtokha Dzong before continuing to Paro. Visit the sacred Kyichu Lhakhang and spend the evening exploring Paro town, known for its charming cafés and traditional handicraft shops.

Today, enjoy Bhutan’s most iconic hike to the breathtaking Tiger’s Nest Monastery, dramatically perched on a cliffside overlooking the Paro Valley. After descending, relax in Paro town or visit local cafés before your final night in Bhutan.

What is the best time to book the Thimphu Tshechu Tour

It is recommended to book at least 3–6 months in advance, as festival dates are among the busiest travel periods in Bhutan.

Photography is permitted in most outdoor areas of the festival. However, some religious ceremonies or temple interiors may prohibit photography. Always follow your guide’s instructions

Comfortable, modest clothing is recommended. Since the festival is a religious event, clothing that covers the shoulders and knees is appreciated.
