Arrive at Paro International Airport, one of the world’s most scenic airports surrounded by Himalayan mountains. Meet your guide and drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city. En route, visit Tamchog Lhakhang and enjoy views of the traditional villages and Paro River.Upon arrival in Thimphu, explore Buddha Dordenma Statue, Memorial Chorten, and Tashichho Dzong. Enjoy your first evening experiencing Bhutanese culture and local lifestyle.
After breakfast, explore Thimphu’s cultural attractions including the National Folk Heritage Museum, Motithang Takin Preserve, and local handicraft markets. Continue the scenic drive to Punakha crossing the famous Dochula Pass, where you can enjoy panoramic Himalayan views and visit the 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens. Enroute, visit Chimi Lhakhang, the famous fertility temple, before reaching Punakha.
Visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most beautiful fortresses located between two rivers. Continue towards the peaceful Phobjikha Valley, a beautiful glacial valley famous for its natural beauty and black-necked cranes. Explore Gangtey Monastery, Crane Information Centre, and traditional villages.
Drive through scenic mountain landscapes towards central Bhutan. Cross the Pele La and Yotong La Passes while enjoying views of forests and valleys. Visit the impressive Trongsa Dzong and Ta Dzong Museum before continuing to Bumthang, the spiritual heartland of Bhutan.
After breakfast, explore Bumthang, one of Bhutan’s most sacred cultural valleys. Visit Jambay Lhakhang, Kurjey Lhakhang, Tamshing Lhakhang, and Jakar Dzong. Continue through traditional villages and countryside, experiencing Bhutanese architecture, local culture and peaceful valley landscapes.
After breakfast, take a scenic excursion to Tang Valley, one of Bumthang’s quieter and culturally rich valleys. Visit Mebar Tsho (Burning Lake), associated with Terton Pema Lingpa, and explore traditional villages and Buddhist sites. Enjoy the surrounding mountain scenery before returning to Bumthang in the afternoon.
After breakfast, drive from Bumthang towards Punakha without returning to Phobjikha. Pass through Trongsa and continue across the central mountains, crossing Pele La Pass at approximately 3,420 m. Descend through forests and valleys towards Punakha, enjoying spectacular Himalayan scenery and traditional villages along the route.
Explore the Punakha and Wangdue areas in the morning, visiting local villages and cultural sites. Continue towards Thimphu, stopping at Dochula Pass for photographs and Himalayan views, weather permitting. Descend to Thimphu and spend the evening at leisure exploring the capital.
Spend the day exploring Thimphu’s cultural attractions, including Buddha Dordenma, Memorial Chorten, Tashichho Dzong and the National Folk Heritage Museum. Visit traditional handicraft centres and local markets to discover Bhutanese textiles, crafts and souvenirs. Enjoy an evening walk through Thimphu town.
Drive from Thimphu to Paro and begin the hike to Taktsang Monastery, famously known as Tiger’s Nest. The round-trip hike takes approximately 4–6 hours depending on pace. After returning to Paro, visit Kyichu Lhakhang and explore Paro town. Enjoy your final evening in Bhutan
After breakfast, transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward flight with beautiful memories of Bhutan’s landscapes, culture, and trekking adventure.
