Day 1: Arrival at Paro Airport – Transfer to Thimphu Distance: 55 km | Driving Time: 1.5–2 Hours | Altitude: Paro 2,300 m → Thimphu 2,334 m

Arrive at Paro International Airport and enjoy the scenic Himalayan flight. After immigration, meet your guide and drive towards Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city. Visit Tamchog Lhakhang on the way to Thimphu, Buddha Dordenma Statue, Memorial Chorten, and Tashichog Dzong.

After breakfast, explore Thimphu’s cultural highlights including National Folk Heritage Museum, Motithang Takin Preserve, Handmade Paper Factory, and local markets. Drive over the beautiful Dochula Pass with panoramic Himalayan views. Visit Chimi Lhakhang (Fertility Temple) before reaching Punakha.

After breakfast, visit the stunning Punakha Dzong, located at the confluence of the Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers, before driving towards Gangtey (Phobjikha Valley). Enjoy a scenic journey through forests, villages, and mountain landscapes via Lawa La Pass (3,100 m).Upon arrival, explore Gangtey Monastery and the Black-necked Crane Information Centre (seasonal). Enjoy a peaceful valley walk and experience the natural beauty and traditional lifestyle of Phobjikha.

After breakfast, depart from the tranquil Phobjikha Valley and drive through scenic forests and mountain landscapes towards Trongsa, crossing the beautiful Pele La Pass (3,420 m). Stop to visit the magnificent Trongsa Dzong, Bhutan’s largest fortress. After lunch, continue the journey to Bumthang, crossing the scenic Yotong La Pass (3,425 m). Along the way, enjoy panoramic mountain views, traditional villages, and lush valleys before arriving in Bumthang, the spiritual heartland of Bhutan. Spend the evening relaxing or strolling through Jakar town.

After breakfast, enjoy a full day exploring the cultural heart of Bumthang. Visit Jakar Dzong, and Jambay Lhakhang, of Bhutan’s most sacred landmarks. Continue to Tamshing Lhakhang, known for its ancient murals, and the peaceful Membar Tsho (Burning Lake), an important pilgrimage site. If time allows, visit a local dairy or handicraft shop before returning to your hotel.

After breakfast, depart from Bumthang and enjoy a scenic drive through the picturesque valleys of central Bhutan. Cross the Yotong La Pass (3,425 m) before reaching Trongsa, where you can stop for refreshments and admire the magnificent Trongsa Dzong from the viewpoint. Continue the journey through forests of pine and rhododendron, crossing the beautiful Pele La Pass (3,420 m). Enjoy panoramic mountain views and charming villages along the way before descending into the fertile Punakha Valley.

After breakfast, drive from Punakha to Paro via the scenic Dochula Pass (3,100 m), enjoying Himalayan views, forests, and traditional villages. Visit the 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens and Druk Wangyal Lhakhang before continuing through Thimphu to Paro.Upon arrival, explore Rinpung Dzong, and Ta Dzong National Museum, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples. End the day with a relaxing walk around Paro town and local handicraft shops.

After breakfast, hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang) through pine forests, prayer flags, and scenic trails overlooking the Paro Valley. Stop at Taktsang Cafeteria for panoramic views before continuing to the monastery to explore its sacred temples and meditation caves.After the hike, descend back to Paro and visit Drukgyal Dzong ruins while enjoying the peaceful beauty of the Paro Valley.
