9 Days Aman Kora Tour Itinerary

Day 01Arrival at Paro International Airport and Transfer to Thimphu

Upon  arrival at Paro Airport, our tour guide will welcome you with traditional khadar and drive you to Thimphu. Enroute visit Tachog Lhakhang ,a private monastery run by the descendants of Thangtong Gyalpo located along Paro-Thimphu highway, before Chhuzom and right after Isuna village. It is just a 10 minutes walk from the highway. 

On arrival at Thimphu, Visit Changyul Park and Memorial Stupa also known as Memorial Chorten located on Doeboom Lam in the southern-central part of the city. The stupa, built in 1974 to honor the third Druk GyalpoJigme Dorji Wangchuck (1928–1972), is a prominent landmark in the city with its golden spires and bells followed by visiting Buddha Point located atop a hill in the Kuenselphodrang Nature Park overlooks the southern entrance to the city of Thimphu. Day 2Thimphu tour

Your day begins with a visit to Tashichho Dzong, a large fortress and monastery located in Thimphu which serves as the seat of the government and the central monastic body of the country and visit to the Royal Textile Museum, located near Bhutan’s National Library and operated by the National Commission for Cultural Affairs. The museum aims to become a hub for textile studies and research and showcases unique, antique textile artifacts exclusive to Bhutan—a fascinating spot for honeymoon couples to explore together.

In the afternoon, you’ll head to the Craft Bazaar, where you can purchase traditional Bhutanese attire or souvenirs. Later, you’ll return to the hotel for some relaxation. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 3Thimphu to Punakha

Your tour begins with a visit to Dochula Pass, where, on a clear day, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the snowcapped Himalayan ranges. It’s the perfect spot to capture romantic selfies with the majestic mountains as your backdrop. From there, you’ll continue to Chimi Lhakhang, known as the Fertility Temple. This sacred site is where locals often come to pray for children, and it holds a special significance for couples hoping to start a family.

After the day’s excursions, you’ll return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 4Punakha to Gangtey

Begin your day with a journey to Gangtey. Along the way, visit Wangdue Phodrang Dzong. At Gangtey, visit  Gangtey Monastery built in 1613 by Gyaltse Pema Thinley and then visit the crane information center.

In the evening, explore the beautiful glacial valley of Phobjikha (3000 m). This valley is the roosting ground of the rare black-necked cranes in winter. Dinner and overnight in Hotel.

Day 5Gangtey to Bumthang Via Trongsa Sightseeing

After early breakfast, drive to Bumthang valley.On the way, visit Trongsa dzong built in 1648 by Chogyal Minjur Tempa. In late autumn, the spectacular Trongsa festival is held here.Then visit Ta dzong, also built in 1652 by Chogyal Minjur Tempa. It is now converted to the royal heritage museum.

In the afternoon, drive further to Bumthang.Dinner and overnight in Hotel.

Day 6Bumthang Sightseeing

Bumthang is one of the most scenic valleys and the spiritual heartland of Bhutan. It is also the birth place of Bhutanese patron saint, Pema Lingpa. There are many sacred temples and pilgrimage sites scattered across the valley.In the morning, visit Jakar dzong “The castle of white bird”, Jambay lhakhang, Chakhar lhakhang and Kenchosum monastery. Later visit to Mebar tsho or “The burning lake”, Tamshing lhakhang and Kurjey lhakhang.

In the evening, free to stroll in the town.Dinner and overnight in Hotel.

Day 7Bumthang to Paro via Flight

From Bumthang, take a  flight to Paro which took about 25 minutes. On arrival at Paro, visit Ta dzong (national museum of Bhutan).Then visit Rinpung dzong  built in 1646 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. It is the finest illustration of Bhutanese architecture and craftsmanship you’ll see. So impressive it is that even scenes of 1995 film, Little Buddha were filmed here.

In the evening, free to stroll in the town for shopping and photography. Dinner and overnight in hotel.

 

Day 8Tiger Nest Hike

Your remarkable hike  to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Temple is scheduled for the morning. Originally established as a meditation cave in the 16th century, this sacred site was continuously visited for nearly 500 years until it was damaged by fire on April 19, 1998. Restoration efforts, costing approximately 135 million ngultrums, were completed in 2005 to return it to its former glory.

After lunch,visit to Drugyal dzong built by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1646. It was built to commemorate his victory over raiding and pillaging Tibetan armies.Then visit Kichu lhakhang, one of the oldest monasteries in Bhutan built it in 659 AD by the Tibetan king, Srongtsen Gampo.Dinner and overnight in Hotel.

Day 9Drop and see off at Airport
