Detail Tour Program for 6 nights and 7 Days Sikkim Tour

Day 01Arrival at Bagdogra Airport(IXB) – Gangtok (130 km/4 hrs drive.

You will find our representative at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) who will help you with your transfer from the arrival place to the tranquil yet adventurous capital of Sikkim, Gangtok. Rhododendrons will be your travel buddy on your way to the final destination. Not a lie, but you will be star-struck to see the eyeful beauty during this journey to your hotel. The airport finds itself at a distance of 126 km, therefore leaving you with a 3.5-hour ride again.

As soon as you reach your hotel, let the fresh breeze sink in. You will also need some time for acclimatization. Our team will meet you at the hotel and brief you about the tour the next day.

Day 2Gangtok Full day local sightseeing:

After a good breakfast with a great view of the Himalayas, it’s time for you to welcome the day with sheer excitement. Today’s day is full of sightseeing and fun.

Day 3Gangtok (Tsomgo Lake Excursion and Baba Mandir

Today is the most adventuresome day. Hence, go light on breakfast. Have a light meal that fills your tummy. Do not overeat as today you are going to Tsomgo Lake Excursion and Baba Mandir. Tsomgo Lake is located at a distance of 40 km from the city center. You’ll have a two hours drive along the beautiful Kyongnosla Alpine Sanctuary which is home to the blood pheasant and the red panda. The journey to this destination will be full of alpine trees by your side. Situated at an elevation of 12310 feet, it is a 50 feet deep oval-shaped lake. For most of the year, this beauty stays hidden under the snow cover. Many migratory birds and the Brahmini ducks find their shelter at Tsomgo Lake.

Baba Mandir: Near the lake lies the Baba Mandir, a holy site for the locals as well as the tourists. It is also known as Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple and is located between Nathu La Pass and Jelepla pass. The place holds extreme importance for it is a memorial of a 22-year-old soldier, Baba Harbhajan Singh, the “Hero of Nathula”, who according to a legend died while escorting a group of mules carrying supplies to a remote spot. His spirit is believed to be the protector of every soldier being appointed at the inhospitable Himalayan regions.

Day 4Gangtok – Lachen (About 125 Kms / 6 Hrs):

Today is the day when you leave for Lachen! Have your breakfast and resort to your high energy levels as ahead lays a 5-6 hours drive to Chungthang which is 96 km away from Gangtok. Take a halt at Chungthang and have a great lunch. Resume your journey to Lachen which finds itself 35 km from Chungthang. Lachen falls into the category of the places that make you fall in love with them at first sight. A town hidden from the outer world, cradling between rocks and sterns, it is a wonderland. The eye-soothing snow-clad mountains bring you a few places such as Gurudongmar Lake, Thangu, Chopta Valley, etc. that are quite interesting and are a must-visit places in Sikkim.

Check in to your hotel, have some evening tea and now stroll across the tiny village and explore the untouched beauty of the place. Do visit the Lepcha Village. Post your evening walk, come back to the hotel in Lachen and take a good night’s sleep.

Day 05Lachen –  Gurudongmar Lake – Chopta Valley  Excursion – Lachung

After early breakfast, our team will escort you toward the Gurudongmar Lake, i.e. 55 km from Lachen. It will take around 2.5-3.5 hours for you to reach there. The drive will be worth these traveling hours!

Gurudongmar Lake
Take pride as Sikkim has the world’s highest lake, the Gurudongmar Lake in its vicinity. The Lake owes its name to the founder of Tibetan Buddhism, Guru Padmasambhava who is also known as Guru Rinpoche. There are claims that the lake has been blessed by the Sikh spiritual leader, Guru Nanak Dev Ji in the 15th century. Considered sacred by Hindus, Sikhs, and Buddhists, it is located at the height of 17800 ft.

After spending leisure time at the Lake we proceed to Thangu followed by Chopta Valley. Thangu Valley is two hours drive from Lachen, Thangu is a cozy village decorated with flowers in May-June and covered with heavy snow from October-March. The place forms a perfect getaway for nature lovers.

Chopta Valley
An extremely famous tourist hotspot in Sikkim; Chopta Valley is renowned for being the majestic valley of flowers. Its varying hues are worth your time and every penny that you have, you will spend on this trip. The untouched valley has meandering rivers and adventuresome ways that attract many trekkers. You are assured of scenic landscapes and some awesome desktop pictures. Owing to its stunning creation; this valley is a fascinating place for budding photographers.

Your evening is free for visiting the Lachung Monastery if interested. Otherwise, you can rest and make yourself ready for the following day.

Day 6Lachung – Yumthang Excursion  – Gangtok

After having your breakfast, drive to Yumthang valley which is located at an elevated level of 11800 feet. Yumthang is a splendid valley set near the Lachung Chu River, surrounded by gigantic mountains. During the springtime, the valley erupts with Rhododendrons, many alpine flowers, and Primula. The flora is in full bloom, making it look nothing less than a paradise. On the other days except for autumn, the valley finds itself hidden in the snow cover.

On your way to the place, you will come across a famous hot spring renowned for its power of curing diseases. Spend a good time witnessing this ethereal beauty and then head back to your hotel for lunch. After lunch we drive back to Gangtok, it takes about 4-5 hours to drive. On your way make a pit stop at Singhik and Mangan. If the sky is clear and the weather compliments your mood, spend some time consuming the magnificent views of Mount Kanchenjunga, Mount Jopuno, Mount Kabru, Mount Pandim, Mount Simvo, Mount Siniolchu, and Mount Khanchendzonga. This drive back to the city of Gangtok will let you encounter the refreshing scenic beauty, apt for some fantastic photography. Back in Gangtok if you reach your hotel in time, you can head towards some shopping center or Mall Road following which you can have a quiet sleep.

Day 7Gangtok – Bagdogra Airport(IXB)  ( 130km/4 hrs drive)

Your 7 Days Tour of Sikkim ends here with our guide seeing you off from the Bagdugra Airport. The trip comes to an end with some enumerable memories. Have your breakfast and start moving towards the Siliguri / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand (Junction).
