Detail Tour Program for Sikkim Honeymoon Tours

Day 1Arrival - Gangtok

Arrival at New Jalpaiguri (NJP) Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport (IXB). Our representative will meet you and transfer you to Gangtok (4-5 hrs drive). Upon arrival, check in to the hotel. Evening free to explore Gangtok on your own. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2Gangtok - Tsomgo Lake Excursion

Have an early breakfast at the hotel and then leave for Tsomgo Lake, which is situated some 40 km from Gangtok at an altitude of 12,300 feet and is a 3-hour drive away. Tsomgo Lake is the most visited lake in Sikkim. The lake is associated with many myths and legends and is considered sacred by the locals. Couple can also take beautiful photograph.

We will also visit Baba Harbhajan Mandir that is situated at an altitude of 13,200 feet. Some 18 km from Tsomgo Lake is the famous Nathu La, a high mountain pass. You have the option of visiting Nathu La at an extra cost. But this has to be done at time of booking the package as you need to have a permit to visit the pass. Foreign nationals are not allowed to visit Nathu La and photography is strictly prohibited. Nathula can not be visited on Mondays and Tuesdays. Return to Gangtok by evening and stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 3Gangtok – Lachen (122 kms / 6 hrs)

After breakfast, drive to Lachen, which is located at a distance of 122 kms. En route, stop at Tashi View Point, Kabi Longtsok, Naga Waterfall, the Confluence of Lachen Chu & Lachung Chu at Chungthang. Arrive in Lachen late in the afternoon and check in at the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 4Lachen - Gurudongmar Lake – Lachung

After early breakfast drive to Thangu Village, which is located at an altitude of 13450 feet. Thangu is a remote high altitude village of Tibetan Nomads & Chopta Valley.

From Chopta Valley, we will drive to Gurudongmar Lake. It is 30 km away and takes about 1.5 hours to reach. Gurundongmar is the second highest lake in India and is situated at an altitude of 17143 feet, close to the Tibet Border. Please note, to visit the lake prior permission has to be taken. After visiting Gurudongmar Lake, drive to Lachung. En route visit Bhim Nala Waterfalls. On your arrival in Lachung, check in at the hotel and stay overnight.

Day 5Lachung - Yumthang Valley Excursion- Gangtok

After breakfast, drive to Yumthang Valley located at a distance of 25 km and an altitude of 11800 feet. It is also popularly known as the Valley of Flowers and Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary located here is worth visiting. Around 24 species of Rhododendron flowers bloom here between April and May.

We will also visit the hot water springs. You will also have the option of visiting Zero Point (at an extra cost). Situated at an altitude of 15500 feet, Zero Point is 2 hours drive from Yumthang and is very close to the China Border. After lunch, drive to Gangtok. On your arrival in Gangtok, check in at the hotel and stay overnight.

Day 6Gangtok - Darjeeling

After breakfast head to Darjeeling. On the way to Darjeeling, you can avail rafting on River Teesta on direct payment basis. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel in Darjeeling. Evening free for leisure activities. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7Darjeeling Sightseeing

Tiger Hill Sunrise watching is one of the most popular tourist sights one must visit. Early in the morning, visit Tiger Hill to witness a beautiful sunrise and Himalayan Peaks like Kanchenjunga and Mount Everest. One can see the horizon changing colors just before the sunrise and the entire Himalayan range turning golden with the rising sun. We will also visit Ghoom Monastery which is the oldest monastery in the area and was built in 1875. One can witness the image of 15-ft tall Maitreya Buddha on the way back from Tiger Hill.

Return to the hotel for breakfast. Later, proceed for a city tour and visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursday), Zoological Park (closed on Thursday), Tibetan Refugee Centre (closed on Sunday), Tenzing Rock, Gombu Rock, Tea Estate (from outside), Japanese Temple and Peace Pagoda. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 8Darjeeling - Bagdogra/NJP Station

Drive from Darjeeling to NJP or Bagdogra Airport. Trip & services end.
