Our experienced guide will provide an overview of the program and assist with your luggage. From there, we will drive to Thimphu, where your tour begins. The first stop will be the Memorial Chorten, followed by visits to the Folk Heritage Museum and the Takin Preservation Center. You will conclude the day with an overnight stay at a comfortable hotel.

Day 2Thimphu to Punakha | Attend Punakha Dromchey

Take in the stunning views as you drive along the scenic mountain road towards the temperate Punakha Valley. We will start early to ensure you don’t miss the festival’s vibrant opening. The festival typically begins with a traditional mask dance performed by the monks, drawing locals who attend to gain spiritual merit. A fascinating aspect of the Punakha Festival is the participation of tribal people from Laya and Lunana, who travel to join the celebration before returning to the mountains with their yaks.

Day 3Punakha to Paro

Today, we begin with a visit to Bhutan’s longest suspension bridge in the morning, the best time to explore this remarkable structure that connects villages to Punakha Dzong, the region’s administrative center. Afterward, we will drive to Paro, a scenic journey that takes around 3.5 hours. Upon arrival in Paro, we’ll visit Drugyal Dzong, which has recently been restored after being destroyed by fire in 1957, offering a glimpse into the region’s rich history.

Day 4Day Excursion to Taktshang Lhakhang

Hiking to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Temple is an essential part of your Bhutan experience. However, the journey is challenging, requiring a 3-hour uphill trek covering 12 km to reach the temple, perched 900 meters above the Paro Valley on a rugged cliffside. After visiting this sacred site, time permitting, you can also explore Paro Dzong and the cantilever bridge over the Paro Chu River. End the day with a restful night at your hotel, reflecting on your memorable adventure.
