Moreover, you will be bestowed with sceneries of breathtaking landscapes dotted with small wooden houses adorned with strings of Buddhist prayer flags.
The sacred and amazingly beautiful Gurudongmar Lake is just 55 kilometers away from Lachen. It is one of the most heavenly places to see in India. The view of the lake bathed in the morning sunlight is a wonderful sight to behold. It amuses the visitors for even in harsh winters, a part of this lake remains unfrozen. It is believed that Guru Padmasambhava, the founder of Tibetan Buddhism visited this lake in the 8th century. The lake is fed by glaciers and it is gorgeous to see reflections of the surrounding Snow Mountains on the crystal clear blue waters.
On the way to Gurudongmar Lake, you would also visit the verdant Chopta Valley and Thangu Valley for a short break. Both destinations are splendid for photography as you will get closer views of the Tibetan plateau. You can do a small hike in the woodlands and enjoy a cup of tea with the locals here. Further, you will be halting in Lachung village for a cozy quiet night’s sleep. On the next day, you will visit Yumthang Valley which is famous for rare species of flowering plants and numerous varieties of Rhododendrons. Spring is the best time to visit this valley as it is the peak blooming season.

Take good rest at Hotel, and walk around the small town of Sikkim before we begin our tour of Sikkim. Over night at Hotel.
Early morning drive to Lachen from Gangtok which is (Approx 107 km / 4 h 30 min). It is located at an elevation of 2,750 meters. On the way visit Tashi view point, Seven Sister Waterfall, and Singhik View Point. Overnight at the hotel in Lachen.
Today early morning after breakfast we will start our unforgettable tour to Gurudongmar Lake (17,200 ft.) via Chopta Valley and Thangu. Chopta valley in Sikkim is one of the most beautiful valleys in north Sikkim. Chopta is famous for its monuments of historical and religious importance — from Chandrashila to the Tungnath Temple and more. It is also home to rare species of animals, plants, and birds and welcomes birders as well as trekkers, and other adventure sports enthusiasts. After visiting the lake, return to Lachen and further drive to Lachung. Overnight at the hotel in Lachung.
After an early breakfast drive to Yumthang Valley (11,800 ft. / 24 km / 2 hours) popularly known as valley of flower because of the Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary which is home to more than 250 species of beautiful flowers that usually bloom from February to June. Back to Lachung and departure for Gangtok.
