Day 1Arrival at Paro International Airport and then drive to Thimphu

As you embark on your flight to Bhutan, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the Himalayas, with some of the world’s highest glacial peaks standing tall in the distance. As the plane makes its descent into Paro Valley, you’ll glide over lush hills, with the shimmering Pa Chu (Paro River) winding its way gracefully below. Upon arrival, our friendly guide and driver will greet you at the airport. After a brief welcome, you’ll be escorted along the picturesque Paro River towards Thimphu. Along the journey, you’ll have the chance to explore Isuana Park and the historic Tachog Lhakhang. Once in Thimphu, you can unwind and relax as you check in to your hotel for a restful evening.

Day 2Thimphu to Gangtey

After breakfast, begin your journey to Gangtey, passing through Dochula. Take a break at Dochula for tea or coffee, enjoy some snacks, and capture unforgettable photos to remember your trip. Lunch will be served along the way. Upon arrival in Gangtey, visit the iconic Gangtey Goenpa before heading to your hotel. Enjoy a delightful dinner at the hotel to end your day.

Day 3Attend Black Necked Crane Festival

After a hearty breakfast, set off for the Black-Necked Crane Center, the venue for the renowned festival. Day 4Gangtey to Punakha

Afterward, continue your drive towards Punakha, making a stop along the way to visit the impressive Wangduephodrang Dzong. Upon arrival in Punakha, visit the majestic Punakha Dzong, a symbol of the region’s rich history and culture. Then, enjoy a visit to the Longest Suspension Bridge, offering stunning views of the valley. Finally, check into your hotel, relax, and unwind after a day of exploration.

Day 5Punakha to Paro via Thimphu

After breakfast, depart for Paro, driving through Dochula with an opportunity to pause for tea, coffee, and snacks. On the way, make a stop at Buddha Point to enjoy panoramic views, followed by a visit to the Takin Zoo, home to Bhutan’s national animal. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Thimphu. Afterward, explore Simply Bhutan, a cultural museum showcasing the country’s heritage, and take a leisurely stroll through Changyul Park. In the evening, continue your drive to Paro and check into your hotel for a restful overnight stay.
 

 

Day 6Excursion to Taktshang

The Tiger’s Nest, also known as Paro Taktsang, is one of Bhutan’s most iconic and revered landmarks, dramatically perched on a cliffside in the Paro Valley. Hiking to this sacred monastery is an awe-inspiring journey, offering both spiritual significance and stunning views.

The trail begins at the base of the mountain, guiding you through lush pine forests and vibrant rhododendron groves. As you ascend, prayer flags flutter in the wind, adding to the serene atmosphere. While the path is well-maintained, some sections are steep, so sturdy footwear is advised for a comfortable and safe hike.

 

 

Day 7Day Excursion to Chele La Pass

Following breakfast, drive along the Haa-Paro highway to reach Chelela Pass. Upon arrival, take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain valleys. After lunch, head back to Paro and visit Kyichu Lhakhang, where you can offer 108 butter lamps for the well-being of all living beings. Next, explore the historic Paro Ta Dzong and the impressive Paro Rinpung Dzong. Conclude your day with a delicious dinner at your hotel.
