The flights to Bhutan are one of the beautiful experiences of Himalayan flights. Only few pilots are trained to land at small strip of Paro airport. Upon landing at the airport visa process just takes few minutes and our team from the company will receive you at the airport. The drive takes you 1 hour to reach thimphu. Upon checking into Hoterl we will take you to simply Bhutan museam where you will be welcome with traditional dance by Bhutanese girls in traditional attire. The museam offers the chance to shoot archery and explore the daily life style of Bhutanese people. The museam is designed in a way where it depicts the life of the Bhutanese, it shows them as they are going about their activities. Evening relaxation at thimphu town.
Punakha is the old capital of Bhutan till 1967 before Thimphu replaced. Punakha is warmer and it is 80 km from Thimphu. On the way visit stop over at Dochulaa pass where 108 small stupa is built in honor of fallen soldier in 2003 war. On a clear day the view of Himalayan mountains is visible.
Further drive you will reach to Punakha Dzong.The first King of Bhutan Sir Ugyen Wangchuck was crowned in Punakha Dzong. Visit the mighty Dzong and, one must cross the mochhu river via a suspension bridge which is replaced by a traditional cantilever bridge. The bridge leads to three steps wooden staircase above which immense front door of the Dzong. Evening at Punakha town.
Paro is 3 hours drive from Punakha via Thimphu. In Paro visit the Drugyel Dzong recently completed after fire destroyed. On the way back visit 8th century kichu monastery Tibetan built by Emperor Songtsen Gampo. It is considered to be one of the 108 border taming temples he built. In the 8th century the temple was visited by Padmasambhava and it is believed he concealed many spiritual treasures here. If time permit we shall visit the farm house. Over night at Hotel.
Tiger nest hike is the most popular hike in Bhutan. The temple is very important for people living in Paro valley. The temple caters to the need of thousand of local people who are looking for blessing of their new born children and harvesting of crops.
