Detail Tour Program for Nepal Tibet and Bhutan

Day 01Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport at Nepal

Full days tour of Kathmandu valley and acclimatization. Walk around thamel city, explore the market and get in touch with locals.

Day 2Day tour to Kathmandu City, Swayambhunath and Patan City

Full Day KTM Tour: Sightseeing of Pashupatinath Temple- the most sacred of the Hindu temples in Nepal dedicated to lord Shiva, built in 1696. Boudha Nath Temple- the world’s largest stupa; a sight of great veneration to the Buddhist. Swayambhunath temple – the oldest Buddhist shrine. Looking east from here, one can see the entire Kathmandu valley spread out below. And lunch break in Kathmandu durbar square. – The temple of the Living Goddess and the old Royal Palace. Finally, visit Kasthamandup – a temple built from a single tree from which Kathmandu derives its name. And then transfer to Hotel.

Day 03Full-day Patan and Bhaktapur Tour:

Sightseeing tour of Patan- A city of architecture and fine arts. Visit the Tibetan Handicraft center at Jawalakhel to watch carpet weaving. Bhaktapur city- Kathmandu Valley’s most medieval city also known as Bhadgaon and was one of the three Kingdoms of Mallas. It is famous for the Lion gate, the picture gallery, the Golden gate, and the palace of 55 windows. Lunch break in Bhaktapur before sightseeing and finally transfer to Hotel.

 

Day 04Fly to Lhasa over Himalaya from Kathmandu

 A Mid-morning flight from Kathmandu will take you over the Himalayas to Lhasa, the exciting capital of Tibet. You will be met at the airport by a representative in Lhasa and transferred to your hotel (55km). The rest of the day is to acclimatize.

Day 05Lhasa Tour

You will visit the Drepung Monastery. This is the largest monastery in the world and once housed 10,000 monks and nuns. It was built in 1419 and the second, third and fourth Dalai Lamas lived and were entombed here. Your next stop will be the Jokhang Temple. This is the holiest shrine of Tibet and houses a golden statue of the Buddha, which was brought to Tibet by the Chinese princess “Wen Chen”. You then stop off at Barkhor Bazaar outside the Jokhang monastery. This is a bustling flea market and is, generally, the place to buy souvenirs and meet other tourists.

Day 06Gandhen monastery tour and back to Lhasa:

 Today you will take a day trip to Ganden monastery. This compact monastery was once gutted by fire but the restoration is now complete. Drive back to Lhasa in the afternoon.

Day 07Fly back to Kathmandu:

Fly back to Kathmandu. Our staff will brief you about Bhutan tour.

Day 08Fly from Kathmandu to Paro, then Drive to Thimphu

During your flight to Paro, you will experience breathtaking views of the Himalayan Peaks including sacred Chomolhari and Mt. Jichu Drake in Bhutan. On arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be received by our guide. Then drive for 1 hr 30 min to Thimphu.

In the afternoon, we will head to visit the landmarks in Thimphu, including the Kyichu Lhakhang and Paro Rinpung Dzong. Kyichu Lhakhang is also known as Kyerchu Temple and is the oldest and most beautiful temple in Bhutan. Paro Rinpung Dzong, built in the 17th century as a fortress to protect Paro valley, offers you picturesque scenery and a sense of inner peace.

Stay overnight in Thimphu.

Day 09Thimphu Sightseeing & Drive to Punakha

In the morning, we will continue sightseeing in Thimphu. You will pay a visit to National Library which houses the world’s largest book and many ancient Buddhist texts and manuscripts, Painting School which is famous for traditional Thangkha paintings, Traditional Medicine Institute where the centuries-old herbal medicine is still practiced, and the folk heritage museum. And the highlight comes as you tour the Tashichho Dzong, the most beautiful Bhutan dzong as well as the headquarters of the Bhutan government.

After lunch, we will drive from Thimphu to Punakha crossing Dochula pass at 3100mtrs where you can see the 108 beautiful chortens built by Her Majesty Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuk. From this pass, on a clear day, you can have a superb view of the highest peaks in Bhutan.

Stay overnight in Punakha

Day 10Punakha Sightseeing & Drive TO PHOBJIKHA

Explore Phobjikha valley. The valley of Black-necked crane and Buddhist temples. The valley offers the best view of wide valley.

Day 11Phobjikha to Paro-200Km and takes about 4 hours

After an early breakfast drive to Paro. Visit Drugyel dzong the recently inaugurated Dzong. Visit 6th-century Kichu Monastery. Over night at Hotel.

Day 12Tiger Nest Temple Hike

Hike the popular Tiger nest temple. It takes about 3 hours for veteran hikers and 5 hours for the first timer. There is also an option for a Horse ride to the viewpoint for those who are not fond of hiking. The temple is located 900m above Paro valley and is one of the most secret monasteries for the Bhutanese.

In the afternoon visit the handicraft shop and walk around Paro town.
