Day 1 Arrival at Paro Airport |Altitude: 2,200m

Upon arrival at Paro Airport, you will complete your immigration and document checks. After that, you will transfer to your hotel and check in to rest and freshen up. Once settled, you will head out for sightseeing around Paro. Visit famous sites such as Paro Kyichu Lhakhang, an impressive fortress and monastery, and Rinpung Dzong, known for its beautiful architecture. You can also explore the National Museum nearby, where you’ll learn about Bhutan’s rich culture and history. This day allows you to acclimatize to the altitude and enjoy the peaceful surroundings while beginning your Bhutan adventure.

 

Day 2Paro Taktsang Hike |Altitude: 2,200m

Today you will take a hike to the iconic Taktsang Monastery, also known as the Tiger’s Nest. It is perched on a cliff 900 meters above the Paro Valley floor, offering breathtaking views. The hike is moderately challenging but rewarding, with beautiful scenery along the way. At the monastery, soak in the spiritual atmosphere before returning to Paro for a restful evening.

 

Day 3Paro to Thimphu |Altitude: 2,320m | Distance: 54 km


Drive from Paro to Thimphu, a scenic 1.5 to 2-hour journey. After arrival, visit key Thimphu attractions like the giant Buddha Dordenma statue, Tashichho Dzong (the fortress and government seat), and the National Textile Museum. You can also explore the local markets to experience daily Bhutanese life before resting for the night.

Day 4Thimphu to Zhemgang |Altitude: 1,140m |Distance: Around 140 km

On Day 4, you’ll travel about 140 km from Thimphu to Zhemgang over 5 to 6 hours. The journey takes you down from the cool mountain capital into the warm, lush valleys of southern Bhutan. You’ll drive through winding roads surrounded by pine forests, rhododendrons, and vibrant greenery. Along the way, you’ll see traditional villages, terraced farms, and may spot local birds or wildlife. The landscape changes from alpine hills to dense jungles, showing Bhutan’s rich natural diversity. Arriving in peaceful Zhemgang, you’ll experience a quieter, nature-filled region known for its culture and festivals.

Day 5Attend Zhemgang Tsechu| Altitude: 1,140m

Spend the day immersed in the vibrant atmosphere of the Zhemgang Tsechu festival. This lively event is one of Bhutan’s important religious festivals, featuring traditional mask dances performed by monks and locals dressed in colorful costumes. The dances tell stories from Bhutanese legends and Buddhist teachings, blending spirituality with cultural heritage. Throughout the day, you’ll witness various religious rituals, prayers, and blessings that bring the community together in celebration. Day 6Zhemgang to Gelephu |Altitude: Gelephu 280m |Distance: About 80 km


Travel from Zhemgang to Gelephu over 3 to 4 hours, covering about 80 km. The route takes you from forested hills down to the warmer, flatter southern plains. Along the way, you’ll see changing landscapes of rivers, farmland, and subtropical vegetation. Gelephu is a busy border town, offering a glimpse of Bhutan’s diverse geography and culture.

Day 7Departure from Gelephu Airport |Altitude: 280m

After breakfast, transfer to Gelephu Airport for your flight home, concluding your immersive journey through Bhutan’s culture and nature.
