Day 2DRIVE TO POKHARA (850m|2,788ft) 7-8 HRS

Pokhara; the city of magnificence is truly a jewel that has made it the best tourist
destination in Nepal. Throughout 6/7 hours drive to Pokhara, you will find the scenario
to observe the beautiful landscapes, farm fields, and water bodies occasionally; sometimes
to the left and sometimes to the right of your vehicle seat.
Upon reaching Pokhara in the evening, the view of mountains like Dhaulagiri, Manaslu,
Annapurna ranges and the shadows of hills and Machhapuchre Mountain in the
sparkling water of peaceful Fewa Lake will mesmerize you. If you still have some time
remaining, the lakeside bestows you with plenty of restaurants where you can enjoy live
music performances and light snacks.
Overnight in Pokhara. (B).

Day 3Nayapul to Tikhedunga- Total trekking time – about 5-6 hours

Starting at about 8 am from Pokhara (the main closest town to the Annapurna Himalaya range), our team will reach Nayapul to begin the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek.

The first-day trekking is easy, and mostly made way gradually uphill walking along a gravel road. We stopped for lunch at Green Land Restaurant, a small house restaurant that was about the only option for food in the area.

Continue hiking for another few hours, the road finally turns into more of a trail.

After arriving in the village of Tikhedunga, checked into Tikhedunga Guest House, a beautiful lodge with a nice view and the sound of a waterfall in the distance.

Day 04Tikhedunga to Ghorepani-Total hiking hours – about 7-8 hours

Today the hike will be challenging, walk straight up the face of the mountain for about 4 hours, eventually catching glimpses of the white snow-capped Annapurna peaks. The views are amazing from the trek route!

After lunch and an hour of rest, continue hiking. After about 3 hours we reached the cold Ghorepani village. At Ghorepani check into Dhaulagiri Lodge, located right at the top of the village in the main square area.

During winter Ghorepani weather is freezing cold and you may expect some rainfall during the trek. There is also snow on the ground in Ghorepani and you may consider wearing better shoes and walking sticks for the trek. Upon reaching the place you will be welcomed by amazing views of the Annapurna Himalaya range.

Dinner and overnight at Lodge. Early to bed will prepare you for the next day’s climb up to Poon Hill summit.

Day 05Ghorepani to Poon Hill, Ghorepani to Gandruk-Total hiking hours – about 10-12 hours

Today we start early at 5 am as we need to climb the poonhill for 45 minutes to the top of Poon Hill for sunrise.

The clear morning view of the Annapurna range and the majestic view of the mountains were worth waking early. This was the view that the entire Ghorepani Poon Hill trek is based upon, and it’s worth every step to get there.

Hike back down to the lodge for breakfast before beginning the main trek for the day.

On Day 3, the views are incredible and best for photography and video shooting for professionals. The trail includes lots of downhill walks and slippery routes which is quite dangerous but one can be careful and our guide will help you to complete these trekking routes.

Continue to hike, until arriving in the incredible town of Gandruk. Gandruk is a large village, and the views of the Annapurnas are outstanding. The village is so beautiful that one can stay forever in this small town staring at the mountains – an amazing village.

Day 06Gandruk to Deurali- Total hiking time – about 10 hours

On Day 4 of the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek after a leisurely morning, the trek begins.

The trail is mostly downhill, and mostly stone steps; it was great on the heart. Hike down and down and then back up again, passing through small villages and numerous small farms along the way.

After some time we arrive at the very sleepy town of Deurali, only a couple hours from a road (so if you were really pushing, you might be able to do the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek in 4 days). Overnight at Hotel Trekkers Inn owned by an extremely nice Nepali lady who really took care of us.

Day 07Deurali back to Pokhara (or to the Annapurna Eco Village)

After breakfast begins hiking. It takes about an hour to reach the permit check town of Pothana, a village that has road access and our driver will be waiting for you to take you back to Pokhara.

Our team from Excursion to Himalaya will arrange a vehicle to transfer you to Hotel for relaxation and drive back to Pokhara.

Day 08Pokhara to Kathmandu

Drive back to Kathmandu. Enjoy the nightlife and over night at Hotel

Day 15KATHMANDU TO AIRPORT AND See Off

Today our guide and driver will see you off to the airport. Your Poonhill trek ends here today. Tashi Delek and Namastay.
