Day 1Arrival at Paro Airport – Transfer to Thimphu| Distance 50 km| 1.5 hrs| Altitude 2400m

Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you’ll be welcomed by your guide and driver. After immigration and baggage collection, begin your scenic drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital. En route, enjoy stops at places like Tamchog Lhakhang and take in the views of rivers and countryside. Check in to your hotel in Thimphu, and if time allows, visit the Memorial Chorten or take a relaxed evening walk around the city.

Day 2Paro sightseeing includes Tiger nest view point and Drugyel Dzong.

In the morning, drive to Satsam chorten and 2 hours hike to the Tiger’s nest monastery . Legend has it that Guru Padma Sambhava the tantric mystic flew here on the back of a flying tiger.Afternoon, visit to Drugyul Dzong built in 1647 by Zhabdrung Ngawang namgyel.Then visit Kichu Lhakhang  built in 659 A.D by the TibetanKing srongtsen gampo. He built 108 temples in a single day to pin the ogress to the earth forever.In the evening, free to stroll in the town.Dinner and overnight in Hotel.

 

 

Day 3 Paro – Jele dzong (Start of Tshaluna trek)|Distance 54KM | Drive time 1.3 hour | Altitude 3480 m

After Breakfast,drive to damchena and start the hike to jele Dzong.Today is a short trekking day. The journey starts with a climb up to Jele dzong. The trek trail ascends gradually up to the camp, and if the weather is clear Paro valley can be seen. Above the camp is Jele La pass and Jele dzong.Dinner and overnight in camp .

Day 4Jele dzong – Jangchulakha| Distance 10KM |drive time 3-4 hours|Altitude: 3,780 m

Trek through alpine forests and ridges offering panoramic views of Paro valley. The trail ascends gradually with occasional steep sections, leading you to Jangchulakha, a high pastureland often dotted with grazing yaks. Overnight at the campsite with sweeping mountain vistas.

Day 5Jangchulakha – Jimilangtsho | Distance: 11 km | Altitude: 3,880 m

Continue your trek through rugged mountain terrain to the beautiful Jimilangtsho Lake. The path includes gentle ascents and descents with rewarding views of the Himalayas and a tranquil lakeside campsite. The lake is known for its giant trout and spiritual legends.

Day 6Jimilangtsho – Tshaluna – Thimphu (End of Tshaluna Trek) | Distance: ~15 km trek + 40 km drive | Altitude (Thimphu): 2,334 m

The final leg of the trek descends gradually through mixed forests to the village of Tshaluna. From here, a vehicle will transfer you to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital. After hotel check-in, unwind and enjoy the blend of tradition and modernity that characterizes Thimphu.

Day 7Day 7: Thimphu Sightseeing | Altitude: 2,334 m

Spend the day visiting Thimphu’s key attractions, including the Buddha Dordenma statue, Memorial Chorten, Tashichho Dzong, and the Folk Heritage Museum. Explore the weekend market (if your visit aligns) and local handicraft stores. In the evening, stroll along Norzin Lam or enjoy local cuisine at a traditional restaurant.

Day 8Thimphu – Punakha – Thimphu | Distance: 76 km (round trip) | Drive: ~3 hours each way

 Drive to Punakha via the scenic Dochula Pass (3,100 m), where on a clear day, panoramic Himalayan views await. Visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong at the confluence of the Pho and Mo rivers, and take a short hike to the fertility temple, Chimi Lhakhang. Return to Thimphu by evening.

 

Day 09. Thimphu – Paro (Departure) | Distance: 54 km | Drive: ~1 hour

After breakfast, drive back to Paro for your departure. If time allows, you may visit the Kyichu Lhakhang or shop for souvenirs before your flight. Depart Bhutan with unforgettable memories of nature, culture, and hospitality.
