Book through a licensed Bhutanese tour operator, who will arrange your visa and travel package, including accommodations, guide, and transportation.
Bhutan has only one international airport — Paro International Airport (PBH) — and it is served by only a few regional cities. From Australia, you’ll need to fly to one of these cities with direct flights to Bhutan:
Australia → Bangkok (BKK) → Paro (PBH)
This is typically the easiest and most reliable route from major Australian cities like Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane.
All international travellers (except Indian, Bangladeshi, and Maldivian citizens, etc.) must book their trip through a licensed Bhutanese tour operator or their partner abroad.
You must pay a Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) and book a pre-arranged package (includes accommodation, transport, guide, etc.).
